Aurinkomatkat, Finland’s biggest full service travel agency, arranges holidays in over a hundred destinations around the world, and wanted to develop engaging videos for each destination efficiently. In order to create the large number of videos needed to cover Aurinkomatkat many destinations KLOK developed a user generated video production, whereby actual travelers would receive a free holiday in return for making a few videos from the destinations they visited.
We set out to make a series of travel and locational activity videos to increase the time people spend on Aurinkomatkat website while they are in the inspirational stage of exploring or planning a possible holiday.
We took the role of producing all of the travelers’ videos. We chose the travelers which would form our video teams, briefed them on what to shoot and the story to tell for each destination, organised all of the logistics, provided them with tips, guidance, and video equipment, and our in house post production team polished the videos to each one the look and feel the client was looking for.
The fact that the videos are not professional adds a special authenticity and it differentiates Aurinkomatkat destination videos from that of their competitors. Beautiful shots by people documenting their own holidays. The videos just feel real.
In total the video teams spent over 60 days travelling and our post production team spent 40 days of editing and we produced 40 videos for this Aurinkomatkat series.
Advertising on youtube in the nordic market has been available for two years. As a result, the market is developing fast and advertisers need to adapt as quick as possible. Connecting with youtubers, who nowadays are even more popular than other celebrities, gets easier through multichannel networks and other helpful services. Publishing promotional video content on youtube isn’t the only advertising opportunity anymore, but collaboration with youtubers and sponsoring them.
KLOK collected the up- and-coming video trends/services to observe in 2015 and summed them up in a video:
KLOK created an online video series to inspire people to be more creative with bread. Fazer were looking to make the sandwiches more interesting, so we teamed up with Joonas Hämäläinen (in case you didn’t already know – he won Finland’s first MasterChef) to create the series “Näe leipä uusin silmin” and demonstrate a few ways to bring something new to this tried and true daily task.
The series explores a different scenario (breakfast, lunch, cocktail party etc) in each episode to showcase how Fazer’s range of breads can be used in a variety of new and imaginative ways. We developed and produced 9 episodes, each with it’s own unique recipe, helped Fazer publish and promote the series on Youtube, and localised a number of the episodes for Russian audiences.
We developed 9 videos for the series and the “Savusiika-kantarellileipä syksyiselle retkelle” video received over 1000 likes on Facebook being one of the best posts of the year.
