So-me in UK
Written by Pauli KopuI’m about to have my afternoon tea (a little too early i suppose) and during my tea hour i’m about to take a short glimpse on the latest social media facts from UK.
Here it is for your eyes too.
Enjoy your tea with a hint of lemon (or a drop of milk if you prefer). And while getting known with the latest data on this video you’ll notice how fun it its to watch the facts instead of reading a great amount of text from papers.
Video Rocks!

Fresh videos for Nokia Beta Labs
Written by Pauli KopuThe Nokia Beta Labs community got some fresh videos along with new projects during previous weeks. Here is a little compilation about these infomercials.
Nokia Messaging Beta for Instant Messaging
Little insight: This one is a little longer than usual, but the goal was to tell little bit more about the new beta release. Currently it has resulted a bit more modest growth on views. Never the less this was the YouTube’s most viewed science & technology video in India during the first days. As well as got good rates in other developing countries. This is a very good result in the heavy growth markets of Nokia. Few of the upcoming weeks will show us will this be the next hit.
Nokia Bots – Experimental application at Nokia Beta Labs
This video for the experimental Nokia bots project has been published for some time now. The view count currently: 76 316. The Bots video has proven to be true trooper, the view count has been in steady growth all the time. Most of the views have come from Russian and the most interested target group has been: male 35-44. Another good result from emerging markets.
All of this proves one big point: video is a good way to promote your work, tell your story and to show instead of just telling.
I’m happy that i have been able to do these two pieces with PAKO Studio and Nokia. Looking forward to do some more!

The meeting of minds
Written by Pauli KopuTomorrow, Tuesday 25.5.2010, will be the big day at Tampere innovation scene. It’s time for the first Tampere Innovation experience and KLOK is in there, too.
What is the Tampere Innovation Experience?
Tampere Innovation Experience @ Demola is a meeting of minds. The event will bring together the Tampere research community to unleash resources and accelerate idea sharing in the spirit of open innovation. Tampere-based researchers, professors and students will have a chance to make new connections, leverage ideas and tap each other’s expertise in an inspiring and relaxed atmosphere of Demola. The one-day program will feature short technology presentations by experts during which researchers, students and professors can engage old and new colleagues in conversation, challenge each other with ideas and come up with new ways to combine technologies. What’s more, we will have over 40 (TBD) demos on display representing cutting-edge technology in the ubiquitous digital society.
Collaboration work has also been carried out in the Demola facility in Tampere, an award-winning multidisciplinary innovation environment for companies and students to work together on next generation digital products and services.
Nokia Research Center
KLOK is there for one big reason. We are born from this scene.
As a master of social media communications our expertise is in digital storytelling rather than in most advanced technical innovations, but we can deliver the content that all technology needs to become popular. The Demola premises, where the cutting-edge minds are set to meet tomorrow, is also our home and KLOK has already build up a great value for this scene by understanding both the latest innovations and the content it needs to flourish.
Here in KLOK we believe that the change and renewing is good and that differentiation is a key to growth.
Show, don’t just tell. We know that it’s more clear, interesting and effective. And everything can be shown.
We do great videos for your communication. Great videos work.
See you tomorrow at Tampere Innovation Experience.

Media.twitter.com
Written by Pauli KopuThe tip of the day is this awesome resource:
This is good stuff for all of you who work for media. Containing good and useful case studies and interesting how-to topics this site is a great toolbox for content creators, developers, producers and buyers. You should take a moment and get a good look of the possibilities of social media and internet for the more traditional digital media.
To think a little bit more about the possibilities of the integrated Tweets… we could have a huge amount of audience engagement trough live Tweets on TV that’s for sure – there is even a case about that on media.twitter.com. But think about live Tweets along with online video or with most breaking news on web: instant comments and connection between all the current users of the one given web content. For example: one trending video + lots of live tweets about this video + both of these in one site = massive possibility to interact with other users. The thing in this scenario would be the connection between all the different users and the new possibility to engage with online content with instant Tweets. Could this vast amount of user generated content be integrated to YouTube video content with the HTML-5?
For us this media oriented Twitter site has proven yet again that we at KLOK are on the right track with our ideas for the future of news, entertainment and media.

What does KLOK offer for MIP people
Written by Pauli KopuMIPTV was great! And it’s now even better that all of us are back in Finland with fresh new ideas and full of energy. Hopefully you are as lucky and have managed to get back home even though the volcano is still active.
Okey, MIPTV was very good for us but why? Most of all we noticed that our business ideas are booming all over the broadcasting industry. And that’s awesome! So: What does KLOK got for you?
KLOK is at MIPTV for three reasons: 1. to promote our own game show format the Innovator , 2. to give our point of view to the broadcasting business with our good knowledge on web videos and YouTube broadcasting, 3. to get to know with new awesome people! Here is little more info about this…
_
What does KLOK offer for MIPTV:
1. Multiplatform game show format the Innovator:
Everyone is buzzing about the connected TV, social media as a part of TV-broadcasting and creating more personal content for internet for example as webisodes etc. The Innovator game show can do all of these and as said it’s a format. As a broadcaster one question still remains: where is the money? Content is the king. Money follows the good content. And Innovator provides astonishing content…
The idea of Innovator is all about “reinventing the world!” and naturally the tv-content is the first thing, but we’ve had the internet mindset from the very beginning so these multiplatform elements are solid part of the show. We had few talks about this, got good feedback and now looking forward to continue these talks… so it seems that we are moving on the right time. (Fingers crossed!)
And why KLOK is developing format content for TV? Internet is the way to go for brands and television as well. Innovator is natural production for KLOK to build up content that uses best parts of both: the internet and tv! More…
2. Good knowledge on web videos and free YouTube broadcasting:
We have our background in the world of YouTube. “Broadcast yourself”, but do it well, is our thing. If you want results from this free platform you should think for a moment. And to ensure effectiveness of your video in social media you must produce it with a professional.
However we are at the same side as the traditional and well established content industry: we love to tell stories. Only the broadcasting media differs. Today the fact that we do YouTube is a huge advantage as we saw at MIPTV. We heard lots of good talk about how to broadcast video content in the web – and luckily – that’s what we do best! Consumer behavior in web is not the same as in traditional TV so the traditional slot based content and target groups don’t apply in the world of www.
So if you are an advertiser or an advertising agency and you want to get your message to the customer in the web we know how it’s done with videos. This goes to the broadcaster side as well… You as a broadcaster have huge amount of content, but how to use it on the web? Or how to use your existing content brands to expand your business and audience engagement? Give us a call or send email, we have lots of good ideas how we can help you!
All this knowledge comes down to the work we have been carrying out with Nokia. Nokia Beta labs came to us two years ago and wanted to start their own channel on YouTube. With two years of development, more than 30 productions and nearly 2 million viewers and a hit videos with over 500 000 views we are well experienced in producing video content for social media platforms. Here is an example:
3. New awesome contacts!
Last but not the least… we are good people here at KLOK and of course always seeking to known with new great contacts! At MIPTV we had lots of inspiring talks with new people and we are hoping to hear from you!
It was great fun to stay at Favex stand!
…We’ll see you all at MIPCOM!
